The Green Bus Company are a bus company fully run by double decker and a single deckerbuses and have been main provider for school transportation in the West Midlands. They have also ran west midlands bus routes in the past including 38, 50, 64, 125 and 558.
Kinver only have access to small amount of bus routes which only runs a few times a day with no Sunday service which means for people who dont have cars, it is impossible to get out and about to do there weekly shopping.
On Saturday 1st August, The Green Bus Company introduced 582 which will run from Wolverhampton Art Gallery to Kidderminster Sainsbury's via Upper Penn, Wimbourne, Swindon, Halfpenny Green, Bobbington, Six Ashes, Enville, Kinver and Caunsall every Saturday until end of August to see how the bus route goes with the community and whether people would consider riding the route or not.
582 Wolverhampton to Kidderminster would leave 08.00 to arrive at Kidderminster Sainsbury's 09.25. The return journey would leave Kidderminster at 11.50 to arrive back into Wolverhampton at 13.09.
The journey only takes 1 hour and 25 minutes for the full journey which ain't bad compared to other long distance routes in England.
I got to Wolverhampton Art Gallery to wait for 582 at 07.30am. At 07.59 the green bus pull up at Wolverhampton Art Gallery. It was an ex Abellio London YN51KUY bus which has a very good layout and seats looked nearly the same as those on National Express West Midlands ALX400 buses. I sat upstairs to get the best video of the journey. The bus left on time and went direct way to Upper Penn then when it got to Wimbourne, the bus went around the town then it went down the country road down to Swindon Green Man Pub. Because the bus was 4 minutes early the bus drivers allows us to take photos of the bus there. At 08.30, the bus left on time and continued its journey. The journey started to go down one way roads. The bus drivers had to honk the horn down some of the bendy one way road and the bus has to slow down a few times. The bus even went past airfield near Halfpenny Green too and amazing countryside the bus drove through. When the bus got through Kinver the bus stopped again for a minute or so. After a minute the bus left Kinver to Continue the last part of the journey through Caunsall before it entered Kidderminster, When bus arrived in Kidderminster, It drove through the Swan Centre then headed straight into Kidderminster Sainsbury's. After a few minutes, the green bus pulled into Kidderminster Bus Station so me and few other transport enthusiasts could take photographs.
What felt very strange was it was the first time a double decker bus has ever entered Kidderminster in a long time. The last time double decker bus ever entered Kidderminster was when 192 ran from Birmingham to Kidderminster. Also the green bus looked more colourful and appealing than other buses in Kidderminster.
Overall first first day of 582 Service, It went through amazing scenic areas and went through villages which are without transport links or limited route options.
