Kinver is a small village in the area of Staffordshire, not far from the West Midlands and Worcestershire. It is a lovely village with big neighborhood, school, library and doctors. There are shops too but don't sell everything therefore public transport creates a vital need for transportation in the area.
Up until lockdown, 228 Kinver to Russell Hall Hospital ran hourly and 580 Kinver to Kidderminster ran 2 trips 3 days a week. Unfortunately during lockdown, 228 was reduced to every 2 hours but in July 2020 there were threats of withdrawing the bus route. This is due to the nature of the pandemic and the 228 unfortunately has become unsustainable and unprofitable to run the route.
The good news is now Diamond Buses have now agreed with the authorities to keep the 228 running until a later date but if bus route ain't used by the public in the next few weeks, Diamond will have no choice but to withdraw the route altogether.
However hope for Kinver began the beginning of August, The Green Bus which are Birmingham based bus company introduced 242 which will run every 2 hours Monday to Friday between Kinver and Merry Hill. They will also run 582 1 journey inbound and outbound Saturday only shopper route from Wolverhampton to Kidderminster via Kinver. However 242 and 582 are only running until end of August so it is strongly encouraged that people in Kinver make use of the 242 and 582 route. If these bus routes dont make any popularity or is not used, they will be withdrawn altogether. That means that if 242 and 582 get withdrawn as well as the 228 route, The only bus route that will be running through Kinver is 580 and operator that runs 580 Coniston only run small buses therefore it wouldn't be able to carry everyone to Kidderminster and back.
I now really encourage everyone in Kinver to make use of the bus routes that are being operated in the area before they out on frequent bus routes and become isolated town. The bus routes are practical and convenient for the village and it would be a shame for Kinver to have to go without.
